Vision and Values

At Broadland High Ormiston Academy we are committed to providing a safe, happy and inspiring learning environment in which all students can grow, develop and flourish. We have high aspirations for every student both in their academic studies and their wider curriculum.

CORE Values

Our work is built on a strong value system that regards Commitment, Ownership, Responsibility in pursuit of Excellence. Respect, kindness, honesty, ambition and pride thread through the CORE principles and promote well-being and progress for all members of the Broadland High School community.

Staff and students understand the importance of commitment to our shared goals.

We support our students to be positive, resilient and confident individuals who take ownership of their education, personal development and well-being. Where students experience barriers to learning we work closely with them and their families to put in place the necessary support and intervention to successfully overcome these barriers. Our dedicated and experienced pastoral support team provides all students with excellent social and emotional care and guidance through our Student Support Centre and Safe Space area. A shared and agreed ownership around excellent behaviour, attendance and punctuality, uniform and personal organisation underpins every successful learner at the academy.

Our academy is deeply committed to being a community that is based around mutual respect and support with all members of our community taking responsibility for their actions. We expect all our students to be responsible citizens both in our academy and in the wider local community. We have high expectations for every student, actively promoting positive praise and relationships and celebrating and recognising students that meet these values. We place our students at the very heart of all that we do and actively encourage them to be involved in the future of Broadland High Ormiston Academy. Our student voice representatives play an active role in the future direction of our school and regularly meet with the Principal and senior and fundraising events. A range of student leadership opportunities, that includes prefects, safeguarding ambassadors and sports leaders, enables students to contribute positively to the life of our academy.

We want every student to aspire to achieve excellence in all that they do. Our academy consistently performs above national averages in both attainment and progress at the end of Key Stage 4. This success is driven through our unwavering focus on high quality teaching and learning in every lesson, every day for every student. We fully prepare our students for life beyond the academy with a broad, rich, and cohesive curriculum that enables them to become well-rounded and responsible citizens, ready to pursue their future ambitions with passion and integrity.
